Paradise by the Sea At the beach Journey The journey here was really easy and simply consisted of flagging a bus down from outside our accommodation in Chichen Itza and then going all the way to Tulum. We hopped off the bus and made our way to the next place we were staying. But we were early, I know right, what is it with these short non-20-hour bus journeys? So we left our bags and went off in search off food, it's what we do best afterall. A turtle we found at our accommodation The place that we ended up going to was at the other end of town and served the most fantastic burritos! Burrito Amor is named after love and we did indeed love the burritos. We had a vegetable burrito and a bean and cheese burrito. A little bit of Arica by my side The view of the Sea We arrived in the early morning in Arica, having taken the overnight bus from San Pedro . Arica was only to be our destination to break a long journey northwards so we only remained here for a few days. As I mentioned in our previous post we had arrived on Wednesday, a day that appeared to be the hangover cure day of all the mass celebrations. Our bus arrived earlier than anticipated so we waited at the bus station for a little while before heading to our accommodation in the North of the town. Olivia enjoying the beach When we arrived we found our accommodation relatively easily and was greeted by a very sweet lady who made us a hot drink and gave us some cake from her daughters birthday the day before. It was a great cake of layered pieces of pastry, cream, dulce de leche and strawberries. We felt well and truly spoiled. Colonia Del Sacramento, Uruguay Olivia at the Porton De Campo So since spending our last day in Auckland , we have hopped on a plane, gone back a day (yes I feel like a time traveler) and arrived in Buenos Aires . From this point onward Buenos Aires will simply be referred to as Buenos, because I cannot spell the last part without triple checking, I have similar problems with Rio . I will be writing about Rio later on in the week as by then we will have completed our time in Argentina. In the meantime however to keep you posted on what we're up to, we had a fun day trip out today. Our day trip took us up to the 14th country we have visited this year (fifteen if we include Italy from last September). An Albino Trapped in Paradise Sunset on Mana Island Day one : Arrive in accommodation, the aeroplane landing strip in the back garden sets off the neighbour's house alarm every 20 minutes. No sleep can commence, the Internet is only temporary. The beach seen from the garden, is a 2km walk away going around the air field. Listing suggested 'villa' was ideally located. Hmmm. The Albino and his accomplice go to cook dinner, whereupon the accomplice finds dead cockroaches and mouse poo in cupboards. One of the resident lizards joins them for their evening sleep. What do you do with a lizard? No glasses and blaming with a shoe doesn't seem smart...? The accomplice doesn't sleep. Additional thoughts : Fiji's not supposed to be like this.
