Paradise by the Sea At the beach Journey The journey here was really easy and simply consisted of flagging a bus down from outside our accommodation in Chichen Itza and then going all the way to Tulum. We hopped off the bus and made our way to the next place we were staying. But we were early, I know right, what is it with these short non-20-hour bus journeys? So we left our bags and went off in search off food, it's what we do best afterall. A turtle we found at our accommodation The place that we ended up going to was at the other end of town and served the most fantastic burritos! Burrito Amor is named after love and we did indeed love the burritos. We had a vegetable burrito and a bean and cheese burrito. Merry in Merida Merida Cathedral, one of the first in Mexico So we said goodbye to Dante and left  Cartagena  bright and early in the morning.  Cartagena  is a really odd airport from the international side. First of all we had gone through passport control as is normal and received our colourful exit stamp (it's blue and orange) but then we had to stand and wait for a while before security checks could occur. What happened next was a soldier came past and asked us how long we'd been in  Colombia  and where we'd been before allowing us to pass through and have the security check. This would be normal if it hadn't occurred after passport checks. But anyway that happened and then we looked around the really small airport. The time we saw some giant Colombian knockers The Old City Our last Colombian destination Cartagena was definitely a welcome break from the city life. Apparently this is THE honeymoon spot for Colombians. It is simply idyllic we stayed somewhere along the beach front between the airport and the old town, but so close we could walk to either. Dante the Dog Our accommodation was right on the sea front and contained a very friendly dog called Dante. At least he seemed friendly but he growled at you and wagged his tail whenever you stroked him, very mixed messages! But he was good company for our time there, most mornings greeting us with a wag of his tail and then following us around, he even tried licking the sand of our legs from the windswept beach outside.
